Product Introduction

Pure tungsten wire is made of high-purity tungsten metal powder as raw material, through powder metallurgy and plastic processing methods. The tungsten content is usually above 99.95%. It has an extremely high melting point and hardness. Its melting point is as high as 3410 ℃, which is the highest melting point among all pure metals. This property makes the products to maintain their structural stability at high temperatures. It is mainly used as a heating element material for high-temperature furnaces, grid wires of electron tubes, side rods, lead wires, brackets, reinforcing ribs for composite materials, electrodes of gas discharge lamps, etc.


According to different surface colors, it can be divided into black tungsten wire and white tungsten wire; the surface of black tungsten wire is coated with graphite emulsion, which is a more uniform and shiny black; Removing the graphite emulsion, it has a silvery white metallic luster, which we often call white tungsten wire.


According to their different shapes, they can be divided into straightened wires, coiled wires, stranded wires; According to different sizes, it can be divided into thick tungsten wire and thin tungsten wire.

Processing Process

Our pure tungsten wire is made by powder metallurgy method.


1) Raw materials: The raw materials are reduced into tungsten powder through a hydrogen reduction furnace, with an average particle size of 2-5 microns.


2) Pressing: Put the tungsten powder in a mold and use an isostatic press to press it into a rod-shaped billet. The uniformity of the rod-shaped billet needs to be paid attention to.


3) Sintering: Put the pressed tungsten billet into a high-temperature furnace for sintering. Its density is improved, but the internal structure is not dense enough at this time. The density of the sintered tungsten bar is generally 17.7g/cm³.


4) Rotary forging: After rotary forging, the tungsten bar is reduced in diameter, and the density is further improved. The ductility and strength are also improved. The density is above 19g/cm³, which provides a basis for subsequent drawing


5) Wire drawing: The forged tungsten bar becomes tungsten wire after wire drawing. Through wire dies of various diameters, the diameter is further reduced until the appropriate diameter is reached. In this process, the tensile strength of the tungsten wire is also increased.

Lubricant graphite is added during the wire drawing process. The diameter of the tungsten wire is between 20 um and 1 mm, and the tungsten wire is packaged in reels.
